Penn Jillette & Monica Seles Eliminated From Dancing With The Stars

penn jillette kym johnson monica seles jonathan roberts

Both Penn Jillette & Monica Seles and their partners, Kym Johnson and Jonathan Roberts, were eliminated in a double elimination on Week 2 of Dancing With The Stars Season 6.

Dance-wise, they were some of the weakest, so that's a good thing. Do hate to see Penn go. Really like that guy.

Dancing With The Stars Season 6 - Week 2 Elimination Show

Dancing With The Stars Week 2 - Season 6 Live Blogging

Steve_guttenberg_anna Tonight, there's no more of that girl vs. boy business. It's down to dancing. Tomorrow night, there will be two eliminations based on last weeks scores and votes as well as this week's.

During the live blogging, you'll see that there are names of couples that have not yet danced with blank scores and commentary. This is just my way of making it a little easier to get the information out to you as quickly as possible.

As of next week, if not tomorrow, the Dancing With The Stars Blog will be posting videos of the dances right after the show, so stay tuned and subscribe if you haven't already done so.

Now, let's get on with this star and pony show, shall we?

I see we're still introducing the guys first. Steve Guttenberg just mouthed "Hi Mom and Dad" from the line-up.

And Marissa Jaret Winokur is in Bright Freaking Pink. Capital letters.

Steve Guttenberg & Anna Trebunskaya

Dance: Mambo

So, Anna's mom is flirting terribly with Steve. Woo.

And now he is dancing very badly to a very bad rendition of....some song.

Judges Commentary: Len says that Steve's dancing is as bad as Len's cooking. Bruno says that all his energy went into his facial expressions. Carrie Ann says that the audience is behind him, but he didn't really go anywhere. Anna is yelling that this is the second dance. Yelling at the judges. Nice.

Scores for Anna & Steve

6 / 5 / 5   -  Total = 16
Two Week Total = 34

Text Vote: 3406
Phone Vote: 800-VOTE4-06 (800-86834-06)

Cristian de la Fuente & Cheryl Burke

Dance: Quick Step

Very fierce and "into it" quick step.

Judges Commentary: Carrie Ann says that his posture is improved, but that there was a few missteps. Len says there was one or two missteps, but that it was too wild. (I agree) Bruno says that he captured the character, but that he needs to work on his footwork.

Scores for Cristian & Cheryl:

7 / 6 / 7   -  Total = 20
Two Week Total = 41

Text Vote: 3403
Phone Vote: 800-VOTE4-03 (800-86834-03)

Monica Seles & Jonathan Roberts

Dance: Mambo

Monica is still a bit awkward. Some of the steps are terribly flat. Eek. It's as if her feet are trying, but the rest of her body isn't cooperating.

Judges Commentary: Bruno says she's either on or off and that she's not really connected to the music. Carrie Ann - "What I really love about you" is that she goes for it. Len says that he can really see she's a fish out of water, but that there's a lot of technical problems with the dance.

Scores for Monica & Jonathan:

5 / 5 / 5   -  Total = 15
Two Week Total = 30

Text Vote: 3408
Phone Vote: 800-VOTE4-08 (800-86834-08)

Penn Jillette & Kym Johnson

Dance: Quick Step

Dude. He just leaned on the dance rail at the dang thing tore off the wall. Bigfoot indeed.

Magical props. My God, he looks even bigger this week. How is that possible?

So far, the dances this week are, well, god bless 'em.

Judges Commentary: Len says that he did try to do a proper quick step, but his feet are terrible. Bruno says the footwork was really, really, really bad. Carrie Ann likes him out there, despite the bad footwork. Teller is happy. Penn says that no one is having more fun. And he pratfalls. The crowd oohs.

Scores for Kym and Penn:

6 / 6 / 5   -  Total = 17
Two Week Total = 33

Priscilla Presley & Louis Van Amstel

Dance: Mambo

So far the best dance of the night. Note: that title has now easily been taken by Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough.

Judges Commentary: Carrie Ann says that she's "got it." Len says that it was a little too precise. Bruno says that she was too precise as well. Carrie Ann says that she likes that she didn't overdo it.

Scores for Priscilla & Louis:

7 / 7 / 7   -  Total = 21
Two Week Total = 45

Shannon Elizabeth & Derek Hough

Dance: Quick Step

Shannon doesn't think she deserved last week scores. That's a new one.

Apparently she doesn't have good cardio stamina. Hell, neither do I.

Wow. She's just a bit too gorgeous in that silver gown. And personally, I think she did a fabulous job. Let's see what the judges think, Tom! I personally say it was the best dance so far. Move over, Priscilla.

Judges Commentary: Bruno says that's what dancing is all about. Improved from last week and that's what they want. Carrie Ann says it was a difficult routine and she did fantastic. Len says that it's the best dance so far tonight. I agree.

Scores for Shannon & Derek:

8 / 8 / 8   -  Total = 24
Two Week Total = 45

Text Vote: 3407
Phone Number: 800-VOTE4-07 (800-86834-07)

Jason Taylor & Edyta Sliwinska

Dance: Mambo

I'll buy that for a dollar. Or two. Three.

Judges Commentary: Len says that he's a winner. Bruno says that he is the mambo king tonight. Carrie Ann says that he's a real contender and has a real shot of winning.

Scores for Edyta and Jason:

9 / 9 / 9   -  Total = 27
Two Week Total = 49

Text Vote: 3402

Marissa Jaret Winokur & Tony Dovalani

Dance: Quick Step

Okay, now she's doing the waterworks. Eek.

Good job on the dance though.

Judges Commentary: Carrie Ann says that she's disappointed, but not to give up. And she almost starts crying. Now Carrie Ann's taking it easier on her. Oh boy. Len says that he loves her and that it's a great improvement on last week. Bruno says she did a classic quick step.

Scores for Marissa & Tony:

7 / 7 / 7   -  Total = 21
Two Weeks Total = 39

Text Vote: 3409
Phone Vote: 800-VOTE4-09 (800-86834-09)

Adam Carolla & Julianne Hough

Dance: Mambo

I say this as a straight woman: it's hard to concentrate on anything with Julianne wearing that dress.

Judges Commentary: Bruno says that he has reimagined the mambo. He's not a natural dancer, but he did make him laugh. Carrie says she's curious what she's going to be called after tonight (eluding to the "bitch" comment from last week). But she enjoyed it. Len said it was brilliant. He says that he entertained the crowd and that's what it was about.

Scores for Adam and Julianne

6 / 7 / 6   -  Total = 19
Two Week Total = 34

Phone Vote: 800-VOTE4-04 (800-86834-04)

Marlee Matlin & Fabian Sanchez

Dance: Quick Step

These quick step dresses are, for the most part, very elegant and really flattering. I think Shannon's is my favorite, but Marlee's is very nice.

And Henry Winkler's in the audience clapping fiercely for Marlee.

Judges Commentary: Len says that she has the possibility to go very far. Bruno says she has an incredible stage presence. Bruno agrees with Len that there might have been a little bit too much mambo in that quick step. Carrie Ann says that she's like watching a film come to life. She says that she needs to work on her hold.

Scores for Marlee & Fabian

Two Week Total = 46

Kristi Yamaguchi & Mark Ballas

Dance: Mambo

Wow. I think she did really well. And did I just see Sabrina Bryan in the audience?

Judges Commentary: Carrie Ann says that the other couples are going to have a hard time beating her scores. Len says that she set a high standard last week, but she met it. Bruno says that it was great choreography and that she's right on it.

Scores for Kristi & Mark

9 / 9 / 9   -  Total = 27

Mario & Karina Smirnoff

Dance: Quick Step

I'm just wondering if that jump at the beginning is going to count as a lift. And there seemed to be a lift at the end. Am I wrong? We'll see what Carrie Ann says.

Judges Commentary: Bruno says that it was Mario and the Queen of Sheba. Says that he could be a winner. Len says that his footwork was pretty good, but his hold was off a bit. Carrie Ann says that it had a certain vibe to it and it was good. No mention of a lift. Guess I was mistaken.

Scores for Karina & Mario

9 / 8 / 9   -  Total = 26

Tomorrow night will be double elimination night. One male contestant and one female.

Kristi and Mark are at the top of the leaderboard with Monica and Jonathan at the bottom. Who do you think will bite it tomorrow?

Dancing With The Stars Season 6 Premiere Live Blogging! Part 2! The Girls!

Tonight, the estrogen hits the floor. It will be interesting to see if Priscilla Presley can come out of that shell and if Marissa Jaret Winokur can curb what seems to be an influx of enthusiasm that she might have stolen from Priscilla.

You'll see below the names and empty scores of the upcoming couples. These will be filled out as the night progresses. Voting numbers are below each couple. Enjoy!

Anyone have any predictions who will be the first to tank?

You'd think that since the boys were up last night, they'd introduce the girls first tonight, but nope. It's boys and then girls once again.

Next week, there will be a double elimination.

Shannon Elizabeth & Derek Hough

Derek just said that the beautiful girls tend to leave early. Poor Melanie and Laila! They were gorgeous. Don't listen to a word he says.

Shannon is a bit stiff, but shows potential. Shannon has the disadvantage of being tall and lanky (but gorgeous, of course). It's always more difficult for the really tall girls. Dancing is

Judges Commentary: Len thought it was a great start. High energy. And she needs to work on her legs, but keep the dresses short. Bruno says she is definitely a sexy minx. She has great legs and needs to learn how to use them. He's looking forward to next week. Carrie Ann is impressed about her energy and confidence.

Scores for Shannon & Derek:

7 / 7 / 7   -  Total = 21

Monica Seles & Jonathan Roberts

Monica has already begun referring to herself as "El Stiffo."

They are dancing the Foxtrot with Monica in a very pink dress. She's not perfect, but oddly not as bad as I expected after that rehearsal footage.

Judges Commentary: Bruno says that she went from Grace Kelly to Grace Adler. She needs to work on the core. Len says that he loved the romance and elegance of the dance. Len agrees with Bruno that she needs to work on her core. Carrie Ann says that she can see her struggling with the ballroom and that she has a delicateness that she'd like to see develop.

Scores for Monica & Jonathan:

5 / 5 / 5   -  Total = 15

Marissa Jaret Winokur & Tony Dovalani

With as excitable as this girl is, this could be very interesting.

They are dancing the Cha Cha Cha. She did really well. I could have done without all the crunking, but nice just as well.

Judges Commentary: Carrie Ann says she loves Marissa, but there wasn't enough content for the Cha Cha Cha. I agree. Bruno says there was too much Solid Gold dancing. Len says that he was overwhelmed with the performance, but bewildered by the hip hop. Okay, now I don't feel so guilty for noticing that. Phew.

Scores for Marissa & Tony:

6 / 6 / 6  -  Total = 18

Priscilla Presley & Louis Van Amstel

I think Marissa stole all of Priscilla's confidence. Marissa, it's okay. You've got plenty. You can give it back now.

They are dancing the Foxtrot. She did *really* well. I am somewhat impressed because with that nervousness, I wasn't expecting much first time out.

Judges Commentary: Len loves it. Bruno says it was smoking on hot. Just relax and work on shoulders. Carrie Ann says that she just proved that age is just a number.

Scores for Priscilla & Louis:

8 / 8 / 8  - Total = 24

Kristi Yamaguchi & Mark Ballas

Kristi and Mark are dancing the foxtrot.

She was FABULOUS! Three standing o's in a row.

Judges Commentary: Bruno says it was the best first round performance he's ever seen. Carrie Ann says perfection! Len says that the ice maiden has just melted his heart. He says she is a really talented dancer. That's some wow commentary. This has been the second wow "star" Mark has trained. Let's hope this time goes better than last!

Scores for Kristi & Mark

9 / 9 / 9  -  Total = 27

Text Vote: 3411
Phone Vote: 800-VOTE4-11 (800-86834-11)

Marlee Matlin & Fabian Sanchez

The woman who dances though she can't hear the music. That's the tagline they're giving her.

This is also Fabian's first season. It's interesting to see the rehearsals with an interpreter and how she "hears" the beat.

(Totally off topic, the new "Melt With You" Taco Bell commercial makes it look like people are pulling cheese out of their noses. It's nasty.)

Fabian and Marlee are dancing the Cha Cha Cha to "Get On Your Feet."

Judges Commentary: Carrie Ann says that was inspiring and that she was fluid and that she will be judged on actual dancing. Len says that it was great, but she needs to work on the arm flinging. Bruno says that the music is ramming through her blood and that she barely missed a beat.

Scores for Marlee & Fabian

7 / 7 / 8   -  Total = 22

Next week: Double elimination and tween sensation The Jonas Brothers.

Who do you think will go home next week? One female competitor and one male will go home. Who do you think it will be?

Dancing With The Stars Season 6 Premiere Live Blogging! - The Men Dance!

Live blogging of the season premiere begins here!

Adam_carolla_julianne_hough Currently, they're showing a somewhat extra cheesy montage of superimposed, gratuitous voguing shots.

And Steve Guttenberg has a top hat. And tails.

Samantha Harris big flouncy black ballroom dress is kinda gorge.

And now we are doing the pro-intro dance. I already miss Maks. They are doing their group dance to Robbie William's "Let Me Entertain You".

The stars are now being introduced and not in alphabetical order. Men first and then the ladies, for some reason. One new pro this season. And Louis Van Amstel has returned, of course.

Tonight, will only be the men. Tomorrow night, the women. No elimination this week.

Now for the dances:

Penn Jillette & Kym Johnson

First out of the box is Penn Jillette and Kym Johnson. They are accentuating the size difference between the two. "Bigfoot is about to dance."

Kym is wearing a big red boa. They are dancing the Cha Cha Cha. They are dancing to Tina and Ike's "Fool in Love."

He's a little wooden, little awkward, but it's obvious that he's having fun. I believe he will improve a lot over the course of the season.

Judges Commentary: Bruno says it was like watching a trailer for "Shrek Goes Cha Cha Cha." Len believes he captured the spirit of the Cha Cha Cha, but he needs to work on his footwork. Carrie Ann pretty much said the same one, though she did reference that he nearly pulled Kym's leg off at first.

Scores for Kym and Penn:

5 / 6 / 6  -  Total = 16

Text Vote: 3401

Jason Taylor & Edyta Sliwinska

Now Jason Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska are up. According to Edyta, Jason is a little bit shy and worried about not seeming macho.

They are dancing the Foxtrot. Edyta sure does love blue. They are dancing to Marvin Gaye's "Pride and Joy."

Very graceful. Jason has shown a LOT of potential with his first dance.

Judges Commentary: Len says that basically, his technique is great, but he needs to "act" it more. Carrie Ann noticed his hands and said they were amazing. Bruno said his technique is amazing, but he just needs a little more heat.

Scores for Edyta and Jason:

7 / 8 / 7  -  Total = 22

Cristian de la Fuente & Cheryl Burke

Now Cristian de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke are up with the Cha Cha Cha. It looks as if Cheryl is having to guide him quite a bit through the dance. Could just be me.

Judges Commentary: Carrie Ann says that the chemistry is great, but he's got to watch his shoulders. Bruno says that he looked like he was a riding a bike and that he needs to bang her. Wow. He also said that he wasn't using his hands and that they're going to stay on top of him until he does. Well! Len said from his hips down is great, but everything else is pretty blah.

Scores for Cristian & Cheryl:

7 / 7 / 7  -  Total = 21

Phone Vote: 800-VOTE4-03 (800-86834-03)

Adam Carolla & Julianne Hough

Adam says that he was weirded out at first by Julianne's age and Julianne says that he talks too much. He also said that the last time he was shushed by a 19 year old, he was 18.

They are dancing the foxtrot to "Mello Yellow". Adam is a little awkward, but trying.

Judges Commentary: Bruno says that the Foxtrot is the George Clooney of dances and what Adam did was Will Ferrell with a little John Cleese. Len says that Julianne has her work cut out for her. Carrie Ann says that he just needs to keep working. Nice way of saying, "Boy, you need help."

Scores for Adam and Julianne

5 / 5 / 5 - Total = 15

Text Vote: 3404
Phone Vote: 800-VOTE4-04 (800-86834-04)

Mario & Karina Smirnoff

Karina is really happy with Mario. But Mario has a great outlook because he is aware of how the show works - bringing up Sabrina's loss.

Karina had to have neck surgery right before the start of the season, during rehearsals.

They are dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Macy Gray's "Hey DJ" and seem to have a really great chemistry.

Judges Commentary: Carrie Ann is already "wooing." She says that he can dance. She has just said that the Ladies are going to have to live up to his standard. Len says that he needs to work on footwork, but great dancer. Bruno says the same and asks if Karina has a monopoly on hot Marios.

Scores for Karina & Mario

8 / 8 / 8  -  Total = 24

Text Vote: 3405
Phone Vote: 800-VOTE4-05 (800-86834-05)

Steve Guttenberg & Anna Trebunskaya

They are really making a big deal out of Steve's prior movie hits. Hmm.

He has a constant look of surprise on his face. I'm just sayin'.

They are dancing the Foxtrot to "Lazy River" and Steve is the officially the first dancer to truly acknowledge the judges mid-dance.

Judges Commentary: Bruno says that he definitely puts his heart into, but he might have graduated from the Billy Ray school of dance. Carrie Ann says that he liked it and she thinks he's adorable. But he does need to work. Len says that he was the first one to come out and look like he was enjoying himself.

Scores for Anna & Steve

6 / 6 / 6  -  Total = 18

Now the girls are having their say. They're talking smack about the guys. Marlee seems very out to kick some butt.

Tomorrow night, live blogging when the girls take the stage!
